No, you do not need to create a new account. Simply update your contact email with your new email address by selecting Manage My Profile. Your login email address cannot be changed because it’s used to track your progress.

Search for the email address to locate the email.

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital letter, one number, and one special character. Special characters include !, @, #, $, ^, or *. No other special characters are allowed. If you are still experiencing trouble, please contact or call 1-800-770-6339.

Select to create a new account. You will then be prompted to complete the registration form with your information.

CECO content may be viewed in English, Spanish or Chinese. Select a language in which to view the site by using the language button located in the top left-hand corner of the login page.


Early childhood educators may receive professional development (PD) hours for completing modules on the California Early Childhood Online (CECO) learning portal. The number of modules and total PD hours available for the module series are shown at the bottom of each series icon. Select the icon to view more information, including how many hours each individual module is worth. For a complete list of modules and available hours, access the Modules Available PDF.

Access the CECO modules by selecting Module Catalog. In the module catalog, use the filters at the top of the page to help find specific modules.

View your completed modules on the My CECO Dashboard. To view other available modules, browse the Module Catalog.

This depends on the modules you are taking. For the Foundations & Frameworks modules, it is on the Foundations & Frameworks Overview Certificate page. Simply open the certificate while inside the module, and the enrollment key will show above ‘Get your certificate’.

It is possible that your Internet browser (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.) is blocking the CECO Web site and you may need to disable pop-up protection on the web page. Depending on the type of browser, there is usually a selection in the browser's address bar that allows you to disable pop-up protection from the dropdown menu. You may know this as a “pop-up blocker.” You may also try a different web browser or a different device.


If the module was completed with a passing grade of 80% or higher, it will unlock a certificate. All module certificates must be opened inside the module for certificates to appear on the dashboard. If a certificate is not showing on your dashboard, return to the module and locate the module that was previously completed. Instead of opening Begin Module 1, select Module 1 Certificate to access the certificate. Then select Get your certificate. The certificate will open in a pop-up window for download or printing. Once they are retrieved, you may also access certificates by going to My CECO Dashboard and selecting Certificates.

Completions can take up to 24-48 hours to transfer to the registry. Double-check that your CA registry ID is entered correctly by selecting Manage My Profile. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact or call 1-800-770-6339.
